Sharing this information is one of the many ways we create an inclusive, welcoming campus for all our students, faculty, staff and visitors. Being visible may create opportunities for students and peers to identify mentors or a supportive person who can share in their experience as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
We also recognize many people cannot contribute to creating community as a part of the Out List because it may not be safe for them to be out in this way. We affirm that there are multiple ways in which people exist in LGBTQ+ communities and that this list is only one way to find support on campus.
Although we do not include allies on this list, we ask each of you to continue challenging and growing yourself by continually supporting campus and community LGBTQIA+ policies, programs and events.
